Year 4 have been looking at position and direction in maths this week. We have been learning how to plot coordinates on a grid, thinking about the x and y axis. Today we were plotting coordinates to draw a 2d shape. Sometimes it got a bit tricky, but we have been determined and worked really hard. Well done year 4! #dcpselephant #dcpsgiraffe #dcpsmaths #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less

This afternoon Year 4 conducted a very interesting investigation. They wanted to know how water transports through a stem and up into a plant. They observed a stick of celery in some water with blue food colouring every 5 minutes and recorded what had happened. We found out some amazing results! The stem transported the blue dye all the way up the plant! Fantastic observation skills, Giraffes. Well done! #dcpsgiraffe #dcpsstem #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less

This week, Year 4 took their PE outside in the sunshine to learn some new tennis skills. They used their knowledge of forehand and backhand shots to complete rally’s in their teams. #dcpsgiraffe #dcpselephant #dcpspe #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less

This week, Year 4 have been designing and creating their own retro video game in scratch. They have had to learn all about modular coding to code their game in order for it to work correctly. They even had to debug some of the errors that happened whilst making their game. Great work! #dcpsgiraffe #dcpscomputing #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less
