The Dinos ventured into the world of work this morning with Julie who came back to talk to the children about different careers they may have and why work is so important in terms of a salary and promotion. We really enjoyed playing her version of snakes and ladders where we had to think about the different skills each career required and how we would need to use maths, literacy and ICT in each job. #dcpsdinosaur #dcpslifeskills #dcpscore ... This week Year 2 have taken part in lots of Learning Outside of the Classroom activities. We used adjectives to describe particular objects we found on the yard, explored the capacity of different containers and looked at how the local environment can be spoilt by littering. #dcpsdinosaur #dcpsdragon #dcpsmaths #dcpsenglish #dcpsgeography #dcpslotc #dcpscore ... Year 2 used measuring scales this week to weight out certain amounts of pasta. We had to be very careful to look at the intervals on the scale to make sure we got just the right amount. #dcpsdinosaur #dcpsdragon #dcpsmaths #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less

In maths year 2 have been looking at measuring mass. We started off the week by feeling a 1kg weight and predicting which classroom objects may be lighter, heavier or the same mass as a 1kg weight. #dcpsdragon #dcpsdinosaur #dcpscore #dcpsmaths ... See MoreSee Less

Year 2 spent their maths lesson today comparing the mass of different objects but first we needed to estimate if they would be lighter, heavier or the same weight as each other or a kilogram weight. #dcpsdinosaur #dcpsmaths #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less
