This morning the Dinos welcomed Emma from Phunkyfoods in to talk about making healthy choices and how we can make sure we have a balanced diet using the Eatwell plate. We then made a healthy picnic wrap and practised our cutting techniques. The best part was the taste test 😁 Thumbs up all round. Some of the children are planning on recreating their wraps for their families and have even thought of the shopping list.

We have had a very fun morning in Y2 with Phunky Foods. We were learning all about healthy eating and how to have a balanced diet. We then chose ingredients to make our very own healthy wrap. They were delicious! #dcpsdragon #dcpscore #dcpsscience

This week we have had a lot of fun using thermometers in Y2. We used them to read the temperature of water, adding more cold water to warm to see what happened. Then we applied this to reading thermometers that had different scales. #dcpsdinosaur #dcpsdragon #dcpsmaths #dcpscore

Year 5 Whales visited Gibside this week and had a brilliant day exploring the grounds. They conducted a river study and observed the difference in current along a stretch of the River Wear. They also took part in a mini-beast hunt and were able to compare the different habitats found within the grounds of Gibside. #dcpscore #dcpswhale #dcpsgeograchy #dcpsscience
