We our loving our Space topic in Dragon class. We have been learning all about what it is like on each planet, what it is like being an astronaut and why planet earth is the perfect planet to live on. 🏃♀️🤸 What an amazing start to PE in year 1! 🏃🤸♀️
We have had a fantastic start to our PE lessons this year! We have been very lucky and had Connor and Shay join us from NE Coaching Co for our Friday morning PE sessions, helping us to develop our physical skills. 🌟
This half term, we have been focusing on or balance, coordination, agility and speed, and the children have been absolutely fantastic! They have shown such wonderful independence and determination when approaching each new challenge. 💪✨
We have had lots of fun moving our bodies in different ways to represent different animals, and have been particularly impressed with our fantastic frog jumps! 🐸 The children have been working on their jumping skills and are even starting to give Shay a run for his money! 😆🏃

👀👂👃👅👋 What a fantastic week we have had in science! 👀👂👃👅👋
As part of our ‘This is me!’ topic, we have been learning all about our five senses - touch, smell, hearing, sight and taste. We have had so much fun taking part in lots of exciting, hands-on activities to help us understand how we use our senses to explore the world around us.
🍓Jelly experiment: We used our different senses to investigate jelly and made predictions about which flavour we thought it might be. We had lots of fun using our senses to help us work out the mystery flavour!
🎈Balloon experiment: We used our sense of touch to feel different objects hidden inside balloons and made predictions about what we thought was inside. We were fantastic at using our descriptive language to explain what we could feel, and loved opening them up and finding out at the end!
🎶 Sensory walk: We enjoyed exploring our school on a sensory walk, stopping to use our senses to investigate different things around us. We particularly enjoyed exploring the musical instruments and listening carefully to the sounds they made.
We have had a wonderful week of learning through exploration and investigation. We are so proud of how curious and enthusiastic our Year 1 scientists have been! 🌟🌈 #dcpspandas #dcpspolarbears #dcpscore #dcpsscience

Another super week with Connor and Shay from NE Coaching Co. Reception moved like different animals — crawling like bears, jumping like frogs and using their bodies in lots of different ways. 🐻🐸
