Deputy Headteacher

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Commitment to the ethos of the school
  • To be highly organised with experience of forward planning and strategic thinking
  • The ability to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning and have a successful track record in raising standards in pupil attainment.
  • The ability to maintain good relationships with pupils and hold high standards of behaviour; support children to meet their behaviour needs and ensure children are ready to learn.
  • An ability to successfully implement actions based on evaluative research and investigation.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and manage a team effectively.
  • The ability to establish excellent relationships with children and parents, promoting aspirational achievement and progress for all groups of pupils including children with Special Educational Needs.
  • An ability to coach teachers to strengthen their areas for development and heighten their strengths.
  •  A positive attitude and solutions driven approach to overcoming barriers.
  • To have a strong working knowledge of Safeguarding and experience in managing safeguarding cases from start to finish.
  • A good use of ICT for learning, ideally with experience of iPads.
  • A willingness to learn and grow professionally.
  • The knowledge and skills to advise and cooperate with the Headteacher and other teachers on the preparation and development of the school’s curriculum, teaching materials and programmes of study, methods of teaching, assessment and pastoral arrangements.
  • The ability to engage actively in Performance Management and Professional Development to ensure professional skills are developed and kept up to date.
  • A high expectation of oneself and others; the ability to lead by example and share skills and expertise with others.
