Part 1
The children in Reception had a wonderful time in the glorious sunshine at Seaton Delaval Hall before Easter. We did three activities across the day. One was being Young Gardeners, where we got to explore the amazing working garden in the grounds. We were able to push wheel barrows around the garden, digging and filling with mud to make mud mountains! We found loads of worms. We also went on a ladybird hunt. We couldn’t believe how many actual ladybirds there were flying round the garden.
The next activity was a lovely art activity, where we got a create plant pictures using paper, pens and paper plates. We tried hard to think of the flowers we already know and might have even seen in the grounds. The third activity was in the play area where we got to explore all of the equipment. We were very brave bears climbing up high, balancing on things and crawling underneath. We also were very gracious as we had to take our turns on the swings.
Beyond the organised activities we got to explore the inside of the house a little and were amazed to find the ceiling in the hall was high enough for a giant to fit in! We also thought the spiral staircases were amazing as the word “spiral” had been one we used on our Skillsboard. We never stopped all day so easily managed The Daily Mile and then some! There will be some sleepy children tonight! #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpscore #dcpslotc #dcpsscience #dcpsart #dcpspe #dcpshistory #thedailymile
