In PE, Reception loved playing some of our fun agility games to develop their speed and coordination. Cups and cones, sharks in the water and the new game ‘toilet’ were firm favourites this week. They are becoming so confident moving in different ways and at different speeds as well as working in teams. #dcpsEYFS #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpsPE ... See MoreSee Less

Reception had another fantastic trip to the woods on Wednesday. We collected and observed different types of leaves and even made our own leaf wands (or leaf kebabs as Mrs Clark referred to them as!) We also discovered ‘giant dinosaur footprints’ and showed no fear climbing trees. #dcpsEYFS #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpsLOTC ... See MoreSee Less

In PE this week, we focused on agility during our warm up games. Starting and stopping quickly and changing direction during our Cups and Cones game. We then looked at how animals move and were given a specific animal to create a dance representation of them. The children were fabulous at demonstrating their movements and even showed their friends in front of the class. #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpsEYFS #dcpspe ... See MoreSee Less

We have been using the conkers we have been collecting to play games. Today we had to roll a dice and count out the right amount of conkers until we had filled our tens frame. We had to do lots of problem solving! How many more do you need to make ten? Who has the most? Who needs to roll a bigger number? What happens if you roll a six but you only have four spaces? More importantly, we have been learning to take turns! Great work! #dcpsEYFS #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpsmaths ... See MoreSee Less

Reception’s second trip to the woods was yesterday. This means the majority of children have been and we will catch up with anyone who was absent next week. The children had an amazing time looking for signs of Autumn, conker hunting, looking for bugs, examining fungi and rolling down the hill! It was a little bit muddy! #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpslotc ... See MoreSee Less
