The year 1 polar bears have had a wonderful world book day today. We have been exploring the story The Barnabus project, and have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in lots of activities linked to the story. The children did a great job making their own predictions about the story and making their own failed project animals. The children created their own maps to help the animals escape the lab too! In the afternoon we had great fun taking part in story massage, doing some reading for pleasure as we chose stories from our reading river to share together. We made our own bookmarks, zigzag and lift the flap books too! #dcpsenglish #WorldBookDay #dcpscore #dcpspolarbears

The Dinos had a wonderful World Book Day exploring the story The Barnabus Project. The children enjoyed a draw-a-long session with one of the authors of the book then created their own failed project creatures. Year 2 Dragons have had a fab day celebrating World Book Day today! Our school book was The Barnabus Project, which we loved. Linked to our story, we drew some of the characters, designed our own perfect pet by mixing different animals, shared lots of stories, watched a great webinar about nonfiction books as well as many more activities. What an amazing day!
