Back in the woods for the children in Reception, and what a glorious day for it! The park staff had planted a purple runway of tulips to welcome our return! The trees were full of blossom and we spotted ducklings and baby moor hens. We found a nest and lots of little eggs that were full of baby chicks that we made our own nests for. Then we got busy digging for worms and hunting for bugs! #dcpsEYFS #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpscore #dcpslotc #dcpsscience ... See MoreSee Less

The children in Reception came back from their Easter break to find photos of alien spaceships flying over our yard! We began to learn about space to find out more about other planets. When we were outside we used large construction to make our own rockets, satellites and then created a space station. We drew buttons and control pads for inside the rocket ships and then decided to draw some pictures and write some messages for the aliens to thank them for visiting us. #dcpsEYFS #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpsscience #dcpsdt #dcpscore ... In PE this week, Reception have been using beanbags to practise their balancing, throwing and catching skills. They played a warm up game of BeanBag Blast where the bibbed player had to tag the children by sliding the beanbag at their feet. Once tagged, they had to choose to do 10 star jumps or sit ups to get back in the game. 💪 they then balanced the beanbags on different body parts before demonstrating their throwing and catching skills. To end the session, children worked in teams to see who could move their hula hoop to the target the quickest by using an underarm throw with the beanbags. #dcpsEYFS #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpscore #dcpspe ... This afternoon the Dinos investigated different types of seeds and how they are dispersed. Then they sorted different trees into evergreen and deciduous. It’s trickier than you think! #dcpsdinosaur #dcpsscience #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less
