Sport and PE

We ensure that the PE provision is fully inclusive, engaging, inspiring and tailor made to suit the aspirations of the children.  We believe that through delivering our exciting but relevant curriculum, we ensure that all children can take part and reach their full potential.  We provide high quality PE through an extensive range of activities within the curriculum, and through our after school provision.

We aim to increase the number of children and young people taking part in activities of their choice through Breakfast, lunch and after school clubs; and local competitions.

We have a school PE council who actively make decisions about the physical education of themselves and their peers, this ensures that the pupil voice is pertinent to the development of PE within our school.

P.E Mission Statement

At Denbigh Community Primary School we recognise the importance of children leading a healthy and active lifestyle.  We promote children of all PE abilities to develop their skills across a wide range of activities; and to actively take part in competition to become the best that they can physically be.  We believe that resilience, determination and sportsmanship underpin all physical activities and are vital skills for the leaders of the future.

The full time nursery children have been given the opportunity to join in with North Tyneside’s ‘Mini Movers,’ initiative this half term. This has been great opportunity for the children to be active and try different healthy foods. During the session the team deliver a variety of activities to help develop the children’s agility, balanace and co-ordination. Parents and carers have been invited into school to have fun supporting their child during the session, whilst taking advantage of advice on healthy eating and accessing free resources around healthy living. We had our last session today, it was lovely watching the children receive their participation certificates and treats. On behalf of the nursery staff we would like to thank all of the parents and carers who have engaged with this initiative over the past 6 weeks. It really has made all the difference and the children have loved it! #activenortheast #dcpscaterpillar #dcpscore #dcpspe #dcpspshe ... See MoreSee Less
