This week the Dinos have been reading a rags to riches tale called Frog Belly Rat Bone. In the story there is a boy who creates a guardian to protect the specks from thieves. The Reception children enjoyed a sunny day in the woods. We saw the ducklings and gave them some food. We had special permission to pick some flowers on our walk around the woods and used them to make potions and perfumes. We also made some amazing leaf boats and tested them in water. Today the nursery children took part in their story detectives session ( using mantle of the expert technique..see below for more details. ) they had a fantastic time solving the case of the missing pig. They did really well for their first week and engaged in the role play well, they were even brave enough to ask the big bad wolf question.
