‘Children in the Early Years get a good start to their education at Denbigh Primary School’ – Ofsted Report
BE HEALTHY
As well as two hours of P.E. in school time we run a variety of sports clubs after school. We offer a free breakfast club, free fruit at breaktimes and healthy options for school lunch.
STAY SAFE
We involve professionals from the health, fire and community police services to support safety awareness. Pupils in Year 5 and 6 have access to cycle training and are encouraged to cycle to school.
ENJOY AND ACHIEVE
Our pupils’ gifts, talents and achievement are celebrated in displays around the school and at fortnightly celebration assemblies, to which parents are invited.
MAKE A CONTRIBUTION
Our pupils are involved in caring for their environment. Each year we support local and national charitable appeals and our choir sing carols to the residents of the local sheltered housing.
ACHIEVE ECONOMIC SECURITY
Pupils from around the school are involved in enterprise activities; fund raising activities and running their own stationery shop.
BE SPIRITED
North Tyneside’s sixth outcome for every child is about helping our children to develop a sense of self and understand their role in their communities. Pupils have contributed to the development of a mentoring room and quiet spaces for play and reflection. We have an active pupil council, pupils have been trained to be playground buddies and peer tutors.
