More Helicopter stories In Reception today. There was a Unicorn having a foot spa in a salon, a dragon burning down a castle and a snowman who lost his nose. Can you tell which is which? #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly ... See MoreSee Less

The children in Reception are loving learning about castles and knights. They couldn’t wait to get dressed up and play in character! And we read a fantastic book called ‘Shhh!’ Which was all about a giant living in a castle. It had lots of flaps to lift to see what was happening and some of the boys and girls decided to make their own books using post it notes. #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpshistory ... Year 4 giraffes have been learning all about electricity during STEM week. They began the week by asking lots of questions about what we would like to know. We then looked at the dangers around electricity and how to stay safe before building our own circuits! Some of us even managed to make our lightbulb turn on and off using a switch! #dcpsSTEM #dcpscore #dcpsgiraffe ... See MoreSee Less

Today, Year 4 became secret agents during their PE lesson and learned how to tell a story through a series of freeze frames. They were super dramatic!! #dcpspe #dcpsgiraffe #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less

Year one Polar Bears were set a very important task during this weeks STEM week. They were asked to investigate which everyday material would be strong enough to rebuild the Three Little Pigs’ houses to help protect them from the Big Bad Wolf. The children set off on the task of creating four houses for the ‘Three Little Pigs’ using clay, Lego, paper and wooden blocks. They then tested which house was the strongest by using a hairdryer. #dcpspolarbear #dcpsstem

After investigating height this morning, it was on to surfaces this afternoon and thinking about friction. Dragons had 6 different surfaces for a car to travel on. We thought really carefully about what each surface would do to the distance the car travelled. We were great a fair testing and accurate measuring. We even had another go at practical graphing and made our own bar graph! #dcpsdragon #dcpsSTEM #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less

Today the Dinos had great fun playing with toys, all in the name of Science of course! We explored which forces were needed to make toys move. It’s surprised us to learn that everything we move does so because we exert a force on it.
