The Resources we borrowed from Claire from The Esh Group have been very well received. There has been so much team work, collaboration and investigation. We have some budding constructors in our midst! #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly ... See MoreSee Less

More Helicopter stories In Reception today. There was a Unicorn having a foot spa in a salon, a dragon burning down a castle and a snowman who lost his nose. Can you tell which is which? #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly ... See MoreSee Less

The children in Reception are loving learning about castles and knights. They couldn’t wait to get dressed up and play in character! And we read a fantastic book called ‘Shhh!’ Which was all about a giant living in a castle. It had lots of flaps to lift to see what was happening and some of the boys and girls decided to make their own books using post it notes. #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpshistory ... Do we have any noble people ready to reign in Reception tomorrow? #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly ... See MoreSee Less

We began our new topic this week ‘Castles, Knights and Dragons’ and the children were very excited to explore what castles look like and their purpose. They were quick to create their own castles from junk modelling, wooden blocks and Lego. Some children even painted their coat of arms on to bread and made up their own ‘castle inspired’ story using the small world resources. #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpsEYFS #dcpshistory ... The children in Reception had a great visit from Claire who works for the Esh Group. We explored building materials, how to build safely using bricks, pipes and tubes and also how we have to look after our pipes by only flushing things away that are safe. We have some great resources we are able to borrow and explore to help us understand more. #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpsSTEM ... See MoreSee Less

Reception have had a lovely afternoon in the ICT suite practising their mouse skills colouring various programmes on 2Simple. They made a fantastic effort to click and drag objects over the screen. #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpsict ... See MoreSee Less

Amazing and well done

Year 3 have been to visit our children in early years this morning to share our ebooks with them. We wrote our poems and designed and made our own books so we were super proud to show them off. The children in eyfs really enjoyed hearing our poems.

Reception have been exploring the story of Jack and the Beanstalk this week. We have created our own beanstalks out of paint and even Lego as well as cutting out character puppets. The children have been amazing at retelling the story using props too! #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpsliteracy ... See MoreSee Less
