How long is a piece of string? Well the Dragons tried to find out today as we had a go at measuring and comparing. We had to try to measure and order lengths of string and figure out how to measure a curved line! We worked hard together and are fast becoming experts at using rulers. #dcpsdragon #dcpsmaths #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less

Dragons received a letter today from one of the three little pigs asking for help choosing the best material for the roof of his brick house, he didn’t want the rain getting in. We started investigating different materials to see which were strong and waterproof. We discussed different types of materials and how to perform a fair test. Later on we wrote to Pig to tell him what we had found out. #dcpsdragon #dcpsstem #dcpsenglish #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less

Investigation time in STEM this morning. We wanted to find out if, and how, we can change the shape of materials. We had lots of different objects and tried squashing, bending, twisting and stretching them. We then had to think about why we could change the shape of some objects but not others. #dcpsdragon #dcpsSTEM #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less

This week we are measuring length in maths. Yesterday we measured in metres, today centimetres! We had lots of practice with rulers and came up with top tips for using rulers to make sure we get accurate answers. #dcpsdragon #dcpsmaths #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less

Year 2 Dragons went on a materials hunt this morning. In our second STEM week we went looking for different materials in our playground and talked about their different uses. We found out that some objects can be made from more than one material. #dcpsdragon #dcpsSTEM #dcpslotc #dcpscore ... See MoreSee Less
