Nursery had a great first session in the at forest school today. We went on a bear hunt looking for all the bears hidden in the forest before deciding to make the bears food and build them a house of sticks. The children showed great confidence in climbing trees and steep slopes. We can't wait for our next session #dcpscaterpillar #dcpseyfs #dcpsLOTC ... See MoreSee Less

The Nursery children have loved showing off their imagination as they explored opal play. We went on some fantastic adventures to the beach and on airplanes,as well as, dug for treasure in the sandpit and mud kitchen. The children showed off their social skills by playing together, sharing the resources and helping each other during their play. Well done! #dcpscaterpillars #dcpseyfs #dcpslotc ... See MoreSee Less

The Nursery children have loved learning our new nursery rhyme - Incy Wincy Spider. We have been practising making anti clockwise circles with ribbon, chalk, crayons, shaving foam, glitter etc to spin our own spider webs. This is a pre writing skill which will support letter formation. We have also loved making our own junk model spiders and spider biscuits. #dcpscaterpillars #dcpseyfs #dcpsliteracy ... Nursery have loved their first session doing yoga. We were so impressed with how well they listened to the story and copied the various yoga moves. Yoga not only builds upon the children's physical skills such as strength, flexibility and balance but supports their communication skills as they listen to and join in retelling a popular traditional tale.
The children were all fantastic at putting on their own socks and shoes. Well done caterpillars! #dcpscaterpillar #dcpseyfs #dcpsPE

The Nursery children loved our opal play today. We dug for treasure in the giant sandpit, went on a trip to the airport in our mini bus and loved the dressing up den. We were all so good at putting on our own costumes. We have also loved the painting with flour this week and exploring our treasure chest #dcpscaterpillar #dcpseyfs #dcpsLOTC ... See MoreSee Less

The Nursery children made the most of the wet start to the day by jumping in muddy puddles and using syringes to collect water from the puddles. It wasn't long before they started a water fight and tested how far the water could travel. We also had great fun cooking food in our mud kitchen and digging for worms in our garden. #dcpscaterpillar #dcpseyfs #dcpsSTEM ... See MoreSee Less
