The children in Reception had a great morning with David from NUFC. They learnt a few new games to play to warm up and then he introduced some balls skills. Learning to look up while running, and avoiding obstacles, was one of the most important skills we learnt! #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpspe ... See MoreSee Less

‘Pooh sticks’ just like in Stickman. Don’t be fooled by the name! #woodensday #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly ... See MoreSee Less

We had a lush day in the woods today, despite the weather. It might have been a bit muddy (sorry for the washing grown-ups) but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We threw ‘pooh sticks’ just like in the story of Stickman we are reading just now and waited to see which stick travelled the fastest. We made fires and experimented to see how different things burnt, wet leaves, dry leaves, tissues... We also looked for good sticks to put on the fire, they had to be dry and make a snap sound. No Stickmen were harmed in the making of this day in the woods. #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpsstem #dcpslotc ... See MoreSee Less

In PE this week, our Reception children have been continuing to practise their balancing, throwing and catching using a beanbag. We then played a game to develop our attacking and defending skills using the beanbags and a hula hoop. The children were great and showed fab sportsmanship whilst also having fun! #dcpseyfs #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpspe ... See MoreSee Less

Reception are having the best time during their woods visits and are constantly busy exploring, climbing, investigating and most importantly playing! A stick just isn’t a stick and there’s always another tree to climb. Our children have the best resilience and imagination! #dcpsEYFS #dcpsladybird #dcpsbutterfly #dcpsLOTC ... See MoreSee Less
