The children had a very exciting assembly on Monday, we even had a special visit from a police dog called Jackson. The assembly was delivered by North Tyneside Council and the Police Force. The assembly focused on safety with dogs and the penalties involved in allowing dogs to foul public areas.

The children learnt about the five key things to remember when they are around dogs.

1. Stand still
2. Do not get level with the dogs face
3. Do not wake a sleeping dog
4. Do not interfere with a dog when it's feeding
5. Ask a dogs owner before you stroke a dog
