As part of STEM week the reception children went on their first school trip to the Discovery Museum. We talked about the different types of ships as well as what the different parts of the ships were used for. We had great fun in the 'Play Tyne' area playing with the different water channels and learning about how the bridges in Newcastle move to let the ships past. We even went back in time and dressed up like boys and girls in the past we were great historians! We also became scientists for the day and explored various concepts such as electricity and gravity first hand, through practical games and challenges. It was a great, fun day for all!
On Thursday we also had the chance to meet some furry animals from Kirkley Hall Zoo, we held the animals and learnt all about the animals and their habitats.
